Willow Almost Ready
We may need to get one more set of x-rays, but maybe not. We are waiting and seeing. She is doing great. Her back end no longer looks so skinny. It may all have been a result of extremely poor nutrition.

Willow
It looks like Willow is going to be okay. The xrays showed no hip dysplaysia and were reviewed by two vets. They also decided that they do not need the fronts since the rears look so good. The diagnosis at this point is severe panosteitis, AKA growing pains.
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1561&aid=466 She is on pain meds and is playing in what looks like normally for a young dog her age. I took her on the 2 hour walk again yesterday and she did well. The first time she was whupped at the end. This time she had fun from beginning to end. Free xrays at vet
I dropped off the free x-rays we received for Willow at the vet to be read yesterday, and hopefully she will read them today, Tuesday. We probably still needs her front end x-rayed but we shall see.
About Willow
Willow is a sweet young dog that we took in from the Humboldt Animal Shelter. When we got a good look at her it seemed she was having some trouble with her feet. I have seen dogs walk like this before and it resolved with some good nutrition and exercise. This time, it seemed like there was more of an issue. I am hoping I am wrong. The vet would like to have x-rays of Willows hips AND her front end. She estimated 478.00. We scored one free set of X-rays after our adoption event Saturday, and got the hips done. It was a very late night for us, but well worth it. The x-rays will be read today, when I take Gaius to the vet to have his splint changed. :
